Great news! The CA Senate today gave bipartisan approval to my SB 327, which protects ratepayers by strengthening oversight of utilities and preventing them from using ratepayer funds to combat efforts to create a municipal utility. Vote was 31-9.
SB 327 now goes to the Assembly for consideration.

I served with Congressman Doug LaMalfa for a decade in Washington. Doug was a good-natured colleague with whom you could respectfully disagree. He was a dedicated public servant who represented his district well, loved CA and the nation. Doug LaMalfa’s good humor and pragmatism will be missed.

Excellent! The Stockton Fire Department has been selected as an awardee of CA Water Service’s 2025 Firefighter Grant! The grant will go toward new wildland firefighting equipment and training. It’s great to see our water providers and first responders working together to prepare for emergencies.

Although my office is not aware of any concrete proposals to convert the former federal prison in Dublin into a mass deportation center, I strongly oppose any such potential plans. As such, I support a city council resolution opposing any future plans for a deportation center in Dublin.
