mostly bad opinions, but that won't stop me from posting them.
yo @sleepernfl.bsky.social have y’all considered focusing less on betting and more on making your fantasy football app functional for fantasy football? this is a weekly occurrence at this point.

working on a #fantasyfootball shiny app that scrapes public league history and has information like lineup efficiency, all time records, expected win%, and compares seasons through a given week.

i’m still brainstorming some other features that might be cool. any of y’all have any suggestions?

i also watched my 6th movie (goal of 10), in Belfast. it was honestly such an interesting story about a boy growing up in the chaotic times of the troubles, with his family caught in the middle of the troubles trying not to pick a side and live their lives normally.

and finally, i read One Long Night by Andrea Pitzer. this one was rough. like honestly really rough. andrea does a phenomenal job of detailing the history of camps, from their origins in the spanish fight in cuba up through the us' black sites and guantanamo. i learned so much, though.

the second was a book i've been meaning to read for years. i literally preordered Rethinking Fandom by @craigcalcaterra.bsky.social, and then it sat on my bookshelf for three years. craig does such a good job of challenging the sports industry's toxic behavior and providing solutions for fans.

on a more academic/intellectual side, i read three books - an i would highly recommend every one of them. the first was How We Learn to Be Brave by Mariann Edgar Budde. it was full of incredible advice and examples - both spiritual and secular - of what bravery can look like every day.

i'm catching up to pace pretty quickly, and i should easily eclipse my goal of 1,000 miles if i can stay healthy. along with that, i lifted more frequently (9 times, 50% more than any other month) and i've incorporated yoga into my routine to help my fitness and recovery.

y'all i've been looking forward to this monthly recap for a hot minute. may was a phenomenal month. starting off, i ran a half marathon about 3:30 faster than my goal. i paced really poorly, and i think i could've run faster if i'd done better, but i'm really proud of the time regardless!

me, justifying eating two desserts every night this week after my half marathon

genuinely so proud of everything i was able to accomplish yesterday, from raising $1,300 for a cause i care for dearly to crushing my goal while running 1:56:38. excited to build from this and keep crushing my goals 😮‍💨

some brief highlight pics from my trip through the national parks in colorado. while i was out there, i came across a line in a native american song that’s stuck with me:

i shall vanish and be no more, but the land over which i now roam shall remain and change not.

unless i've made a dire mistake in imputation or reading comprehension, i believe this is the equivalent of ~7 1.01 picks. and no, i don't believe the charts break at the extremes at all. this is a very sound and good strategy. i am the trade down king.

i dare say no one has ever added as much value in a draft as me. i humbly accept the title of best value adder in all of football.
April 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM
also love having @josephjefe.bsky.social's trade calculator available. traded up to get a great tackle at 25, but then managed to trade down enough to effectively add early day 3 value to the draft.

been a little disconnected from social media for the past few weeks, but finally getting back around to nfl draft things. really wanted an edge at 58 to balance out the draft, but once sawyer got taken at 57 i was content to trade back and add more offense.

why doesn't brett veach simply acquire myles garrett and a 2025 3rd for a 2027 1st and 2027 2nd? is he stupid?

don’t hate the idea of tiering down from nix, tho. may try to do both? could also just wait to try to grab a qb next year when we have our own 1st back.

this is what we took over last january btw 😂😭

curious what dynasty bsky would do with this disaster of a roster. (believe it or not it’s much better than when i took over last year 💀)
