Addendum to 9:
I grew up in Singapore. Playing boombox in public like that was liable to get you fined.
We did have like a small battery operated silver radio thing that had a long antenna. It weighed approximately 200 kgs.
I would drag it out to the backyard and play soft music while I played.

Note: Don't know if this counts. We didn't have a boombox, but kind of a medium sized battery operated radio. We never played it in public, because that would be rude. But I did use it to play music when I had picnics out in the backyard.
