I was a member & leader alongside trans girls, cared-for girls, girls with MH issues, girls who were just otherwise generally a bit unhappy or uncertain about the future (welcome to being a teenager). The main thing about going to a Guiding meeting was that you could forget that for an hour or two.

I don’t really remember much about what exactly we did activities-wise. The main purpose was being able to spend time with other girls during a time of life when you feel especially vulnerable and uncertain, somewhere which welcomes you and helps you grow. This decision isolates vulnerable children.

This government really is a lot like the West Wing, in that the politics seem to change week to week in service of a good line.
