Clement is known for being a sort of hands on, across the club type so the suspicion/hope is that Attansio may listen to him more and Knapper less. We’ll see I guess!

Of course he’s inheriting a broken squad with very little confidence, but he has been here before and seems to have a good rexord of improving teams. You would at least think he would inject energy and tempo, which has been lacking for a long time

Plus you would have to think he has been told he can fill gaps or get the kind of players he needs in January / next summer (if he gets us going, which of course is not a given) with cash from Attansio. Whether he can sort us remains to be seen, but potentially a better apppintment than expected

This is the point I think. Attanasio may well want to change sporting director but doing it now while also looking for a new head coach would be too much. So we’re stuck with Knapper for now but with Attanasio providing more input and keeping the heat on (in theory at least)

Of course. Probably requires some experience and championship/football league knowledge given our situation, but who knows who will apply/they will approach. Huge pressure on Knapper (and Attansio given wider malaise/irritation, the financial impact of relegation if they get it wrong etc)

Garrick would be more effective than Martin, who would take forever getting us playing in that patient style that drives fans mad (and not necessarily get results). Kind of need someone who can organise and motivate really (and work out how to get a tune out of a lopsided and injury ravaged squad)

I’d be surprised if there is a plan. Plus it is Knapper effectively making the decisions and so far all his choices have tanked (in part due to the squads he has assembled)

Yeah. How it will work if they sit back and try and hit us on the break is one thing that worries me. IE will we be easily overloaded. We’ll see!

The Sarge/Matty Chrisgoreham partnership looked good second half, as did the shape and more direct/high energy approach. So good he has opted for that - will see if it works!

We’d earmarked the Cov game to go as a family and take my nephew to his first game at CR - Monday night basically messes that up given we live in different parts of the country, have work etc. thanks Sky *slow handclap*
