I'm willing to accept that there was no good deal to be had and the only outcome was suffering and death, and they made the best strategic fold under the circumstances. But it's very hard to trust that since they folded earlier this year with the same excuse of, "we'll get the real deal next time"

Just to propose a small counter to my senator: I think that not all internecine conflict is wasted energy. It doesn't hurt *much,* in my view, for the Senate Caucus to understand that they're going into this December fight with a base that has lost patience and is ready with knives out for failure

Yeah, I was gonna say, I have lived in New England, Pennsyltucky, and Western North Carolina, and by far WNC had the most Confederate flags, followed by Pennsyltucky, ironic given that PA is a state the Confederacy actually invaded during the war.
