I grew up in the SCM and attended Loma Prieta Elementary School- I was in first grade when we got to move into the brand new school building they built after the earthquake condemned the old one. But never did I get to learn this important history! Thank you for this thread.

I love the truffula redwood trees! My mom lives in Boulder Creek and my brother in Bonnie Doon, so I get to see trees like these when I drive Alba Road when traveling from one of their houses to the other.

I look forward to checking this out. Have you or others made progress in using remote sensing to identify where forest operations have occurred, particularly lower impact operations like thinning from below, or prescribed burns?

This sounds totally reasonable because I don’t buy more than 5 pieces a year (besides sundries) but that stems from not enjoying the process of shopping. Also we have a thriving culture of clothing swaps in my region which precludes the need to buy much
