What do they mean “land ‘identified and proven’ as a ‘viable location’ for sustainable housing”? Where’s the Local Plan and is this land identified for housing or not? I can’t believe the endless shilly-shallying in this country, about building homes for people!

What a disgrace. This won’t please either right-wing loonies who want to “just send them back where they came from” nor anti-racists who want refugees to be treated humanely. No one wants to stop using hotels and end up spending more on an alternative, except apparently our government!

Rejoining would be great, however an aim is not a promise & neither is the Lib Dem’s view that we should do so when the time is right. Both parties appear to acknowledge that steaming in without taking people with us will just result in leaving again in a few years & that would be disastrous

Privatised rail companies haven’t given a better service anywhere in the world, and increased passenger and freight demand mean our railway is creaking at the seams. The next vital step it seems to me needs to be continuing to reopen & build railway lines, hopefully at a faster pace than currently!
