Definitely not fast, and I still don't get all the little intricacies, but it definitely gets easier as you go along!

I also started playing Kingdom Hearts in Japanese too. Surprisingly, a lot of the language is pretty straightforward. The only thing is any text that self-closes is WAY too quick for me. Also, fun fact, Final Mix is English dubbed in Japanese. Only the original release was JP dubbed (ﾟДﾟ*)ﾉ

Man, this last month has felt stupid hectic cuz of work, but since things slowed down in the last week or so, I jumped back into manga, and just zoomed through the first 3 volumes of 薫る花は凛と咲く. It's kinda refreshing how it handles relationships as straightforward as it does.
Today, I finished my first LN in Japanese. At the start, it was a struggle to get through half a chapter in one sitting. By the end, I was finishing two chapters in a sitting. Overall I spent a little over 14 hours on it! くま クマ 熊 ベアー isn't anything over the top or outrageous, but I enjoyed it!

And this month with a day to spare, I've finished volume 3 of NEW GAME. It's definitely getting easier, though my focus has shifted more to listening. I'd say my biggest change lately has been my ability to "tolerate ambiguity" as people put it. With that, I've been able to push myself much more!

Went through security at DFW, and the scanner lit up bright red on my crotch, so they asked me to step aside for a pat down. Guess I was packing too much heat for the TSA

I JUST realized, after I completely dropped Duo. Duo teaches you that "midnight" is "ごぜんれいじ" in Japanese. It doesn't teach you (as far as I saw) that it's "午前零時" which is literally "zero o'clock in the morning".
Duo never taught me "zero". Lmao.

This month hasn't been nearly as productive on my Japanese reading side, since I've started prioritizing listening over reading. That being said, I read half of the second volume of Ruri Dragon, and half the first volume of Sakamoto days, so I won't count it against myself!

This month, Yotsuba's first volume was my Japanese manga for the month. Or I'd say month, but we're only 12 days in.
A few months ago I gave it a shot, but the language was far too hard, especially Yotsuba's kid language. But now it's a breeze. Always fun to revisit stuff you struggled with!

Well, I'm halfway through the month, and I've finished my goal of one volume read in Japanese per month. This month was 先輩がうざい後輩の話, of which I started re-reading in English, and thought it would be perfect to practice in Japanese! First volume down, many to go!
