I miss 😢 normative rule of law.

One of my alma maters refused the latest higher ed shakedown, yay.

Now waiting 4 results of TX constitutional amend votes. Not expecting good news. 4 good ones but most were empty MAGA posturing about things that are already covered by law or moot — or sneaky MAGA power grabs (excuses to further defund public education, control judiciary, etc.)

Thrilled that Mamdani won! So much BS about him. Even my husband (votes D) who knows/cares nothing about NYC and has zero history when it comes to caring about about “what is good for the Jews” hated Mamdani. Thought he was a communist and antisemitic. 😜No. Propaganda is strong. So glad he won.

In 2003, I didn’t make a planned visit to Mainland China b/c SARS broke out and *I did not trust the Chinese govt. to release accurate information (vs propaganda) about the situation*. I knew that no matter what, the US govt. was different. Missing our usual economic data this season.

You don’t have to be a purity test Democrat to strike Platner off your list. It’s the Primary, FFS. Janet “see you in court” Mills is a great choice. I vote in Texas but we are all sick of Collins. Platner was fresh and exciting. (So was Fetterman.) But nope. Not worth it whatevs the explanation.

Kash Patel coin reminds me of shortly after Jan 6 when my husband was getting quotes on a home project. I walked in and he was standing in our kitchen with a gen-X guy in a Punisher skull T shirt. Instant veto as soon as guy left. No, dear, not just a video game. Not risking it in our home anyhoo.

Theme for the day 😢😢😢
Sad stuff.
Not a danger to myself or anyone else, though.

I’m getting dementia and sundowning (in the 8 am hour central time) just listening to this.

I’m glad someone is taking notes on this speech because I keep nearly falling asleep. As important as this all is to witness.

So the alarming part about this isn't publicizing medbeds, which I doubt Trump personally even knows about. The bad part is he doesn't want — or even need — to adhere to reality anymore. He needs his base ready to go to war for him, maybe literally. He is in the endtimes prophecy business now.

Oh no, Brer Fox! If they start wanting to punish non-Maga for being non-Maga, I simply cannot think of any worse punishment than being kept off the list for a MedBed Card. Oh, my, that alone would be doom. 😉

I need a Chotiner Meme Explainer. Seems to be something about deadpan interviews with subjects who are giving deadpan answers about super outrageous things.

Just FYI, there is no “registered independent” in Texas. Your party affiliation is determined by the last primary you voted in. You walk into the primary, they give you two choices of ballot, you pick one.

Me: listening to a podcast that just used the term “badass librarians”
Husband: I thought you were off social media this week
Me: No. Personal social media. All the people who want me to do something for them and my umpteen dumb committees
Husband: Have some more wine

OK, this confused the heck out of me at first, but I think he is saying “don’t take away the responsibility (guilt, obligation to do better)” from those people. Versus my first reading of this as “don’t take away their right to collaborate.” Understand “replies off” but that didn’t help clarify.
Do NOT take away the agency from the people in academy, business, law enforcement, media, military, politics, who collaborate with the Trump regime. No one has gone to jail or been killed for opposing the regime! For many, the ultimate price to pay is not even unemployment but just a bit less money.

Oh, please, the ONE armchair anarchist who popped up on my feed and seemed to celebrate today’s violence got perma-muted (on my feed anyhow). Twitter is so lying about Bluesky reaction.

Back to the NYT. Oh well. Corporate media was on my no-support list for a good six months, but their deep dives into decades of economic shenanigans…

The craziest things happen in Ford Broncos.
So, the woman whom Giuliani was helping was on the southbound side of Interstate 93.

But the car in which he was injured was on the northbound side.

And this all happened in the dark of night.
