Another excerpt from Read This When Things Fall Apart: Letters to Activists in Crisis. Red Schulte’s letter speaks to those organizing outside the law—a place more people of conscience will find themselves as authoritarianism tightens its grip.

Community theatre is so sacred & gives me so much faith in humanity. Seeing grown adults take to the stage just for fun gives me all the feels. I tear up every time I see live theatre in any level of professionalism. It’s all so sacred to me.

Notes on recent reads, including Paradise Logic (!!), No More Tears (the evils of Johnson & Johnson), Demon Copperhead (& my obsession with narrator Charlie Thurston), Yellowface, & more! #booksky #amreading 📚
Is my compulsive reading habit enabling me to avoid reality?
Well, probably. But I’m not stopping, sorry suckers.

The reality is that bail doesn't keep people safe. It's not a system built on "justice."

Instead, it perpetuates an endless cycle of poverty and jail time that ruins lives and makes communities less safe.

Queue the banger 🎵 “United Health” by Jesse Welles
"For 2026, ACA marketplace insurers have proposed eye-popping ... prices: In New York, UnitedHealthcare has proposed a 66.4% rise."
Since 1999, health insurance premiums for people with employer-provided coverage have more than quadrupled. From 2023 to 2024 alone, they rose more than 6% — a steeper increase than that of wages and overall inflation.

I should make a playlist of all of the suggestions you've made so we can all refer back to it. ALSO, how about we pick a day when all of us across the country organize local sing ins where musicians lead us in song. It would be fun. Singing secular hymns in community altogether.
