When complaints have been made, they are often handled slowly and with a lack of compassion and empathy.

People find the complaints system difficult to understand and navigate.
Statutory advocacy services which are meant to make this easier have had a 20% real terms cut this decade, even as the volume of NHS care (and dissatisfaction with it) has grown.
