Article about how right-wing Christianity turning a benevolent Jesus into a combative, selfish scold laid the groundwork for America turning a supposedly benevolent presidency into a force for everything Jesus stood against.

A stomach-churning, but important read.
A depraved and decadent Trump WH dinner for MBS was a stunning low for an American ruling class that's stopped pretending to carry a moral compass

It was really a celebration of death - of democracy, of an overheating planet, and ultimately themselves. My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/ceos...

This is my kind of good trouble.
In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

Keep it up. Support your local newspaper!
DHS claims that an accused murderer was released from a Charlotte jail and was “back onto North Carolina’s streets because of sanctuary policies.”

The local paper reported that was false.

So DHS quietly removed that statement—and never admitted they lied. www.charlotteobserver.com/news/local/c...

Does the Secret Service even do standard checks anymore? How the hell did someone with an active arrest warrant get within 20 feet of the President, to say nothing of the White House in general?
NEW: Trump has offered his personal support to MAGA influencer Nick Sortor and invited him to the White House as a star journalist. While Sortor was at an event with Trump, Bondi, Patel and Noem, a warrant for his arrest was active in Kentucky.

God I miss Herblock and the old Washington Post, which made a difference in the 20th century.
This is true and this started before social media. You can compare a Herblock to any random political cartoon from the 2009-2012 period and see a delta larger than seems plausible by talent alone...
i thin that the internet has largely ruined political cartoons. people don’t know how to make actual cartoons anymore. all they do now is draw an obnoxious stand in for the artist and a giant text bubble
