My grandmother who was a holocaust survivor said the only movie she thought came close was one called “In Darkness” to how horrible it was at the time. Overall, they don’t do justice to the Holocaust in film. I’m fortunate that she and her survivor friends talked to me about their experience.

I feel like these type of wwii movies never really capture the true essence of the time. They try to hard to make them palatable.
