Damn, inexpensive concert last night at a smallish venue with artists I didn’t really know (had heard one or two songs by em) but #BradenBales and #Livingston both have a new fan. Both knew how to put on a hell of a performance and you could tell how hard they worked to get it where they are

Man what a shame that the live action #cowboybebop got cancelled. Yeah it had some too drastic deviations from the anime w/ certain elements, but it did so much more so well. Not to mention John Cho as Spike just being perfect. @netflix.com makes enough $ give em a send off season to wrap things up

Despite clear inspirations, it never ceases to amaze me how a comedy like The Orville can teach such poignant lessons to modern day society, politics, and science. While showing how a space faring society can be almost utopian by current standards, while still being so relatable to human experience

Ugh, son of a… now I have to wait for each weekly episode of the last of us season 2. I have my thoughts from ep 1 about some earlier than expected reveals, but I’ll hold that judgement until I see how they add new powerful, emotional moments now that certain things are already shown #tlou2

Impactful story #5 The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Really so much of it but from the very beginning: an utterly insignificant little blue-green planet whose ape-descended life forms are so amazingly primitive that they still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea #DontPanic #writing

To throw out another major story that had an impact on me growing up ,#4 I think, Vivi’s existential crisis in final fantasy 9. “How do you prove that you exist?” One of my all time favorite characters grappling with what it being alive or real actually means. Then he kicks ass with his magic #ff9

Then my third & final story today, maybe: any Doctor Who pre regeneration scene, but all the more impactful “Vincent & the Doctor” episode. One of the most beautifully tragic ways of honoring a renowned artist while exploring themes of mental health and inevitability. Perfect. Don’t change a thing.

And this influential story thing was a 1 a day challenge, but I’m gonna throw a few varied ones out there. #2: Final Fantasy 8. My first console game & had a big impact on me. A brooding loner protagonist, mercenary schools, & an off the rails FF style climax. Still one of my all time favs #ff8

I saw this thread about posting 20 games that influenced you, 1 a day. But as a storyteller, I wanted to do this about influential stories in my life from any medium. No real order just what I’m thinking about. First up, “Jurassic Bark” episode from Futurama. Does so many things to my heart. IYKYK.

Started the day with a couple cups of coffee, knocked out a little freelance graphic design work all before 8. After breakfast hoping to go hard writing or editing. Got a demo reel that needs some work too… feels like a day to be productive

Long time final fantasy fan, huge fan of FFX. But I refuse to pronounce the protagonist’s name the way it’s “supposed to be” pronounced. I will die on this hill. #FFX #Tidus

Ouch. When Netflix puts Rugrats, Arrested Development, Chappells show, and Avatar the last air bender in the “Retro TV” category… that made my soul hurt a little #gettingoldsucks

This morning a 7:02am I finished my short story I’ve been working on. Came in just under 5k words. Writing, and subsequently reaching a goal, really does invoke a feeling unlike any other. I need more.

Started the new year off right. Got 2500 words written for a short story I’ve wanted to get down on paper for a while now. Feels great & I want to keep this momentum going. Anyone else get a couple words down to start the new year? Writing resolutions? #writing #WritingCommunity
