Like for everybody who fears that they’re going to station ICE agents at every polling place, we need to understand what that means. Not that they won’t try to fuck with elections, but this country is really fucking big and they don’t have the capacity to do this even under generous assumptions.
I want everyone to understand what “every majority Dem polling place” means. In 2022 there were ~100,000 polling places in the US. Presume a quarter were majority Dem, and presume an “army” is ~10. You’re talking 250,000 ICE goons, ~10x their total employees at present.
I hope everyone understands there will be an army of ICE goons harassing and intimidating voters at every majority Dem polling place.
The effectiveness of the fascist suppression will likely be limited only by the fact that these conspiracy freaks really do think there is massive voter fraud.

My guess is a combination of the black population + tariffs hitting manufacturing for car parts and tires (Volvo, BMW, Michelin, and Continental Tire have big plants there)

The behind the scenes lore for that is in the original series the phone pole was a compositional nightmare because it was a big vertical element bisecting the back yard and they were constantly trying to cheat its placement, so Wes specifically requested a sendoff for it haha
