Or maybe to nationalise broadband for pensioners?

My wife: not everything is Balearic

Me pointing at a Neil Diamond cover of Joni Mitchell: BALEARIC

Not saying it's the happiest 20mins on the entire internet but it's definitely on a very short list.

I don't disagree with any of this. We're seeing a failure of both Lab and Con and a Ref leader on either side of the despatch box is a catastrophic abandonment of the majority of people in this country.

That depends on the leader and their team, and I don't share your confidence. I think that much as the Goldsmith/Khan campaign showed how racist a moderate party could be and still get 40% of the vote, the next runs of LE will show how moderate a racist party can be and target 40%.

Sorry

Hahaha. Actually "Bin reform? Vote Reform!" would probably be quite a good slogan. Tbf if anyone campaigned on a platform of all councils across the UK have to have the same bins for recycling I'd consider voting for them.

Bins are definitely an area Reform are focusing on.
December 10, 2025 at 7:55 AM
It should work, but I don't have confidence that Lab are pitching themselves as leaders of an anti Ref/Con coalition as much of their comms appears focused on appealing to Ref/Con not building a coalition of support against them. If that strategy backfires then they will lose the next GE, badly.
December 10, 2025 at 7:52 AM
And obvs the current Labour leadership don't see the next GE as two coalitions against each other so they continue to try and appeal to both sides while successfully attracting neither. The same arrogance of the Tory party that they're here forever, just running five years or so behind the collapse.

Happy birthday Richie! Hope you're having the best day 🥳💯

In a minority of one but I'd rather have his albums of the year, thoughts on Edwyn Collins final tour and what televising both Arsenal teams at the same time says about the future of the women's game.

I think Anthony Kiedis deserves a place on the list too, and not even just for his musical output.

Yes! A constant and minor frustration. What's the point in all this fancy machine learning when it can't detect that I keep sodding changing it.
December 6, 2025 at 10:13 PM
Ah! I only saw the top 50! Obviously Angel of My Dreams was last year but I'd have allowed them putting into the top 20 because the album came out in 2025. Or the Jade/Con Man collab.
