The three spirits

A movie poster for the film 10 Things I Hate About You, released in 1999. It's a line-for-line retelling of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew but set in a contemporary high school with contemporary fashion. It was a cultural phenomenon, encapsulating the 90s/Gen-X obsessions with self-importance and Shakespeare—but not like, *reading* Shakespeare or patronizing a reperatory theater or anything gauche like that. And it had a killer soundtrack.
