Your friendly neighborhood protest quilter.
At the start of 2024 I began documenting mass shootings through fabric in a series of quilts. The navy tallies symbolize a person who has been injured as a result of the incident and a red tally signifies someone who has died as a result of the shooting. For 2025 this will be a collaborative effort.

✨Sneak peek shot of my latest piece✨ Made from thrifted bed sheets and quilted with frankenbatting left over from previous projects this piece is both subversive and sustainable.

That mock up is gorgeous! It’s going to be so beautiful! Here is the one I made. I made it as a shower gift for two of my good friends whose son was born this past winter.

At the beginning of this year I started documenting all mass shootings that occurred within the United States through fabric. A blue tally for each person injured and a red tally for each person killed as a result of the incident. This is just the first three months of 2024.

This quilt is a collaboration between @peach-and-honey.bsky.social, @quiltblocked and I for the Ruby & Bee Solids Challenge for Quilt Con 2025. The map is based on an abortion access map from an NPR article showing access after the bans in Florida and Arizona went into effect. Article linked below.

Hi, I’m Erin, a modern quilter based in Southwest Michigan. My focus is on using repurposed materials and creating political commentary quilts. I suspect my cup will runneth over with material the next several years so follow along if you’d like your liberal rage draped in fabulous fabric.
