Anime/Manga talk here too!
I am glad to see THREE indie titles, AND a 3D Donkey Kong game up here.

So, hey--No matter what wins, at least we got some great games up there!

Banaza is my vote--But I wouldn't be disappointed to see Team Cherry be given the well earned win here!

To ME, it seems like common sense to expand downwards as you need more room, but no, they just said "We bought this salt mine, let's start putting junk at the bottom, see what happens."

Worst case, a guy won't shut up and you mute the voice acting, and just ignore them entirely.

Personally, I believe Nintendo is only showing the opening sequence of the game, and this will be a mostly non-issue once we play it.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

Either way, I'm playing it to see!

Best case, the early parts of the game are a bit annoying for you, and the rest of the game is pretty much like how Prime 3 did things. An opening area with lots of dialog and unnecessary tutorials, then the story starts, and so does the isolation with minor interactions later on.

If you wanna wait to see if this game is for you, you don't have to buy it at launch. Wait a couple weeks, check to see how others are feeling about it.

Personally, I used to *hate* parts of Prime 3 for this very reason--But, by the time I beat it, I stopped thinking about the NPCs.

I fully admit, that it's fair to say this isn't what you wanted or expected from a Metroid game, and that sucks, but in the end, we just don't have enough information on how it'll play out to say if this is *really* a problem for most people.

We're a couple weeks away--Take a breath.

We've seen Samus *alone* plenty of times, so why not let us see her experience what it's like to not be so isolated, but experience a new isolation as they're no longer sending communications or helping you out.

Samus can handle things on her own, why not show how she handles leading a team?

"Metroid is about isolation", Dread reversed the formula where you're making your way to the surface of the planet, rather than deep below.

I think this one will START out with the Galactic dudes, and then slowly isolate you as they're killed off one by one.

To ease any concerns, the Metroid team KNOWS what we like about Metroid after Other M, Nintendo isn't just gonna let one of their most expensive games fall for the same mistakes they made in 2011 that pretty much killed the franchise UNTIL Prime 4 went into development.

Eh, these guys are gonna be introduced, but remember, Sylux hates the Galactic Federation. They're gonna try and make you attached to them early on, and kill em all off.

The way they all talk about going home to their families or staying as a team--Death flags for each of em.

In conclusion: If you don’t understand or want the Steam Machine, it's not for you, nobody is forcing you to buy one, or even acknowledge it.

Your life will not be made worse simply by it existing.

But for those that DO understand it, you know if it'll be worth it for you. Hope you enjoy!

"These are 2020 specs!"

Is that a bad thing? Current generation consoles are about halfway through their life, the Steam Machine will likely run modern games for another 3-4 years without problem. Even so, older technology, means cheaper to manufacture, meaning cheaper price.

"No good games are compatible with Linux, this is useless!"

I have had my Steam Deck for years and not run into compatability issues, even so, this is a PC, you can download Windows on it and it'll run it just fine. I don't recommend Windows due to the unique Software of SteamOS though.

"Nintendo must be terrified right now!"

Switch 2 outsold the Steam Deck, and the entire PC handheld market, in the first week. Nintendo is in an entirely different market than a PC-Console. These are very different devices, for very different people.
