We are pleased to welcome Jim Rees to the Friends of the Stockton & Darlington Railway team today. Jim will be working as part of an NLHF funded project to look at long term planning for the Friends and our management of the S&DR as a heritage asset beyond 2025.

Heighington Station, built in 1826-7 and likely the oldest railway station in the world has been added to the Historic England Heritage at Risk Register today with resulting national press interest.
