Interesting that Monroe County, where University of Indiana-Bloomington is located, voted Democratic by over 62% while most of the rest of the state didn't.

Its almost as if the Indiana GOP legislature wants to reduce the number of voters leaning Democrat.

Measuring stock market (single-day) drops by percentage.

However, US stock "down markets" are more than one day. Looking at a single day doesn't really capture what's happened.

If Trump had not fired the Inspectors General from most agencies, they have several excellent reports about the types of improper payments for the federal/state unemployment insurance programs.

DOGE could have just read the IG reports.

North Carolina is unique. It writes an "identifying number" on absentee ballots, which ties the ballot with the absentee affidavit, even after verification, separation & counting.

In NC, its possible to re-identify absentee ballots after counting.

Why did only three (ex-officio, usually non-voting) Republican members of the board sign the letter?

What happened to the 12 bipartisan, no more than 8 from one party, board members confirmed by senate? Was there a quorum of the board for the vote? Did the board comply with its own founding laws?
March 18, 2025 at 9:01 AM
What happened to the other board members.

Seems strange for only ex-officio members to sign a statement, when by law, the board is supposed to be 12 member bipartisan board with no more than eight members from one party.

The board doesn't seem to be complying with its own founding laws.

Social Security Administration has been telling people not to use SSNs for non-social security/tax purposes for almost a century. It is not intended to be a national ID number.

SSA not paying 120+ year old people. Other orgs using SSN.

GOP used to be against using SSN as National ID number
March 5, 2025 at 3:02 AM
SSA Inspector General already investigated in 2023 (read OIG's report). More expertise than Musk.

Result, found no fraudulent SSA beneficiaries.

SS(A)N not intended as National ID. Use of SSA DMF by private pensions/banks/companies for fraud not SSA statutory role.

Bad user interface, but eventually you will get to quarterly data (March 2024) headcount for NRO (under DoD)

Matches the DOGE data - 1097 employees (unclassified), does not include classified headcount, detailees, uniformed.

If DOGE was staffed with people having government experience (its not!), just randomly tweet Government Accountability Office (GAO) reports.

Detailed information on estimated improper payment amounts and rates for six program areas for fiscal year 2018 through fiscal year 2023. Not including DoD.

DOGE is not "auditing" government agencies. Software engineers with no financial accounting experience don't understand what auditors do.

Things auditors do NOT do ...
