As with PJ Harvey, picking a single Nick Cave album to post is a nearly impossible task. Every song is a story, meticulously thought out and perfectly executed. Dark, violent, introspective, and utterly compelling. I love to put this one on during long drives through desolate terrain.

Now I'm getting really obscure, but for me this fits the bill of a perfect album. I've heard it described as "post rock" which is nonsense, but it mixes dark minimalism with hints of jazz. I've listened to this so many times, often in dark rooms late at night as rain dances on rooftops.

A masterpiece by one of my all-time favorite bands. Was lucky enough to see them live a couple times in small dive bars. I wish more people knew about them, but obscurity kind of fits their whole vibe tbh.

Initially I didn't like this album as much as Floodland, but I think it's aged better thanks to being driven by guitar riffs. I can still listen to this and goth out.

Choosing from PJ Harvey's 90s albums is a tall order, but despite the first two being critical darlings, I think this is my favorite of that bunch.

post a PERFECT album from the 90s that isn’t Nirvana or Pearl Jam or Soundgarden or Alice in Chains

(I can post a ton but this one came to mind instantly)

If I've learned one thing on the streets, it's that you gotta boost that cred.
