I am convinced there are more films in this cinematic universe. Maybe Harry Dean Stanton's character is the same as his Escape From New York character, which then ties in The Fog via Adrienne Barbeau.

It's obvious the leads all play the same continuous characters(who change names between films) the real thread in the first 3 is Sy Richardson, who goes from a repo man/coworker of Otto, to Otto's boss and BIL of Keith Davids in Men at Work, then returns in They Live as part of the resistance.
