Just had a great Mexican style soup. Led me to ask, can't we deport all the MAGAts and keep all the Mexicans? The Mexicans have better food, work harder, value education, aren't all drug addled, commit far fewer crimes, and didn't vote for a rapist for president.

Six-Unit Homes Bring Citywide Benefits, Anxiety Nearby streets.mn/2025/08/26/s...
I remember going to community meetings in the 1990s about the same issue. Leaving one, I commented "Boy, I sure am glad I can't afford to live in this neighborhood. It sounds awful." Got a dirty look for that one.

Will we raise prices due to the tariffs?
Our food is domestically assembled, but some of our meat-based fluids and slurries do rely on Chinese precursor chemicals.
We’re committed to offset the added cost by eliminating costly cleaning supplies in our kitchens and restrooms.

Inside an IKEA cabinet. Mostly cardboard. The pegs for the shelves go in the oriented strand boatd, otherwise it's just cardboard between two thin sheets of fiberboard with a thin plastic coat.

Thoughts on what an individual can do to help? How can I help Ukraine, screw with Russia, help Mexico and Canada? We're going to Canada for summer vacation, 99 percent of spend will be in Canada. Drinking Mexican beer. Overall spending is cut way back. Other thoughts?

Accidental cooking tip. If you need to measure tomato paste, coat the spoon with a drop of olive oil. The paste just slides right out.

I could use the gas stove. But the induction cooktop is just better.

So I'll add to the whole cooking thing. Given the giant pot of French Onion Soup on the stove, you know where I land. BUT...each of the empty burners is set to "medium". One will gently warm, one incinerate. If you don't cook a lot, which do they mean? Can you afford a mistake? It's not easy.
