It's the "Good Czar." One can't criticize the czar or they'll lose position or life, so they blame the advisors. Putin uses this during his annual address to get concerns from the people, then makes a show of solving the problem by berating someone. It insulates the person on top.

Driving towards conflict b/c of "culture war" pandering. No strategic direction or national interests. Pandering to a select group of the base who believes there's a "war on Christians" or that there's an international communist threat. And all of it ensures China and Russia can do what they want.

This weekend shows they can be competitive throughout the year. Really nice weekend and nice to see them score goals.

And the question that always needs to be asked is, what comes after? It'll be really easy to topple Maduro, but we risk creating a worse situation in the form of an even more lawless area. Could increase the drug trade or create a safe haven for some form of terrorism. Are we going to nation build?

If it wasn't, it was close. I got off work 6 am and we went to the Rox for breakfast bar. After the football game, went to Beamers. After the hockey game, went to Howie's. Then to my apartment. I remember seeing 4 am and still drinking. Woke up at 10 am on Sunday and went back to Beamers.
