In a medical crisis, having a bunch of people crowding around unable to help is not helpful. Leaving to go get help/first aid kit is often the best way to help, especially if other people have already responded.
However, it's unlikely that RFK was actually doing anything useful or helpful.

I was a communications minor at App State! Fun bit of synchronicity, I saw Ric Flair (dressed in a 3 piece bright red suit) walking around the Comms department one day (he was there visiting his daughter who was a student at the time).

Love the story off that song. The band found out Bon Scott was in a pipe band when he was younger, so they wrote a song with a bagpipe part and bought a set. Turns out he played drums in that band, not the pipes, but he was able to learn enough to play the part for the song.
