The UK always has done. There was a saying that 'what's over there eventually comes over here'. Even my fave cafe is a diner now. As long as we don't start calling our kids 'Junior, Buddy,' or just know them by letters.

Sorry but it still does not match the wider definition of colonisation, which is more than words and lists of stuff that make it a shit and currently involuntary union. It's a violent and devastating life experience for those colonised. It will become a voluntary union by democracy one day.

No.We've never been invaded. We are and always will be a separate country for, but it's our own landed gentry and military who have made us complicit in/or made bad decisions on our behalf over the centuries. As I said, currently an involuntary union. That can and will change when WE make it so.

I really don't think that's helpful. It's a union. It's currently not a voluntary one and there's a power imbalance for sure but that mindset doesn't even begin to empower us out of it. When the other 50% of the population start to feel the potential for power, not weakness, we can make the changes.
