I think you can consider yourself a true central/upstate NY-er now. I've done the down-and-back drive to NYC many times, but never thru a lake effect storm.

It didn't gel for me. Everything about it was well done, but it didn't give me the gut punch the book did.

Went to a 2-star place back in August, which was phenomenal, but they had 2 Michelin Man figurines in their decor situated in such a way that one was lock-eyed with me all night. Watching. Smiling. Implacable. As I chewed. As I digested.

I lived in suburbs/rural areas nearly my entire life. Had a house with a big yard and everything. Then I moved to DC and completely fell in love with the urban lifestyle. I'm a total geeky Metro fan. I'm so completely over the standard "American Dream" home ownership.
