Today’s show was my last at CNN. My closing message: It’s never a good time to bow down to a tyrant… don’t give in to the lies. Don’t give in to fear. Hold on to the truth… and hope.

What people don’t understand and are failing to appreciate is they’ve erased all the guardrails. They’ve tested all the defenses. They have the House, Senate, SCOTUS, White House, and the most powerful man and media empire in the world. MAGA won. America’s fate is in their hands.

Same with response to him hawking presidential merch in the run up to taking office, pumping bitcoin and mechanisms to enrich him while in office, generally saying emoluments clauses and ethics rules will be totally ignored this time around. And we all have just seemingly shrugged and moved on.

The U.S. is suffering from a bad case of premature inauguration. Trump is sending emissaries around the world, attending events, making policy pronouncements like he was already the president. Never seen anything like it. And the response of the media and public is: yawn.
