I think it's also just the change in TV as a whole. DS9 has as huge over-arching storyline and the studio was against it originally because Trek was syndicated and they didn't want people to miss eps and be lost.

But for me, the over-arching storyline makes me love DS9 even more

While I like TOS okay, I don't think I will ever do a full rewatch of it again. Whereas I have watched TNG, DS9, and VOY each twice through fully and am now doing a Best Of rewatch of DS9 and then I'll do VOY

I like TOS okay but I just like the feel of the character driven stuff more

Yeah I made a whole spreadsheet to do it... It was a lot of work

I did the same thing at the end of DS9 & the beginning of Voyager, which for me was really helpful because the end of DS9 is fucking amazing in the beginning of Voyager is just not great

The first time I watched TNG & DS9 I actually watched each episode in airing order (except for two-parters those states together)

Because the last I think two seasons of TNG aired as DS9 first couple seasons aired. It was a nice way to get fresh faces but also keep things kinda weird 🤣

DS9 has a slower start, and filler for sure... But it's hands down my favorite Trek.

More than any other show I feel like I get to know the characters really well and really care about them. Currently doing a rewatch of main story plus any great episodes.
