If there's one benefit from all the Republican criminality and corruption it's that you never have to treat them like good faith interlocutors again. Every currently living Trump accomplice should be treated at most to a reflexive "Eat Shit" for life, and that's better than they deserve

I don’t know why this incenses me as much as it does, but it does:

we very likely have a thousand plus Mozarts *right now*. But they make non-Western art in economically destitute conditions so they have to do other work to pay bills; if you cared, UBI’d be more important to you than going to space
Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk say human population not nearly big enough: ‘If we had a trillion humans, we would have at any given time a thousand Mozarts’
“I think in a lot of these endeavors we're very like-minded,” Bezos said of himself and Musk regarding getting humans into space.

The NCAA pulled all sports tourney events out of NC for a few years. Crickets when Florida and Texas passed worse bills.
it took a phenomenal, expensive, coordinated effort to get from losing 400 million dollars & a gubernatorial race to skrmetti in 9 years.

A must-watch for every single American who cares about their country and its future (as well as anyone else living where there's rising authoritarianism). The evil must be stopped.

he wants to abolish the income tax and fund the government almost entirely through tariffs, thereby delivering the most regressive bonanza to the rich in the history of American taxation. He has said this many many times. He said it *at the announcement* and yet pieces like this just ignore it.

Never was much of a reader, and always stuck to topics I was interested in when I did. Read a lot of band bios and such. In 24 I challenged myself to read 13 books and fell short by 3, but it has changed my relationship with reading where I have taken blind recs and enjoyed.

I realize that reporting takes time, etc. But both Science and Stat had stories on this yesterday, and theirs were much better at conveying what this means.

As a NC State fan, one can only dream of my team blitzing up two scores instead of dropping 8 and watching the QB get comfortable

Went through a phase where I listened to almost all of the stuff I listened to in college (let’s call it “emo shit”) and was blown away by the bands I had slept on but also the bands I loved that are almost unlistenable to me now.

Walked away from Octopath 2 after credits rolled, leaving the companion quests behind. Finally returned, not getting why people said it was so much better than 1, until I unlocked that final quest… amazing way to tie the game together

Always a coward and avoid scary games, but had to pick up Alan Wake 2 because I loved Control so much and the buzz around it. Having a blast but feel exhausted every time I put down the controller.
