“It was so quiet, one of the killers would later say, you could almost hear the sound of ice rattling in cocktail shakers in the homes way down the canyon.”

One of the best, if not, the best opening line of a book ever. #helterskelter #bugliosi

One of my favorites.
Happy 80th birthday to the one and only Henry Winkler, who gave an all-timer performance in the highly underrated An American Christmas Carol!

But what’s the solution?
The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

The Erie Canal was completed 200 years ago today. It was a major achievement for the early US, and for New York in particular. But the canal meant different things to different people, and over time, its significance evolved.

Remember this one?

From 1981, it popped up in my feed, probably due to the #EdGein documentary I watched. So I gave it a shot.

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being absolute perfection (i.e, the original 1933 King Kong), I would give this a solid 8. You can watch it free on #Pluto like I did.

According to Google, there are approximately 1.3 million active service members. So each will roughly get 100 bucks. Before taxes that is.

And I own an iPhone 15 with a cracked screen.
The richest man on earth owns X.

The second richest man on earth is about to acquire TikTok and his family could soon own both Paramount and Warner Bros.

The third richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

The fourth richest man owns The Washington Post.

See the problem here?

Why would we think this is satire? We’ve grown used to the daily madness.
We’ve become a bad joke.

This is from the December 28, 1982 edition of the Bismarck Tribune.

Bismarck was the first stop on the Creatures of the Night tour. It was the first show without Ace. And the first show with Vinny Vincent. Historic moment in KISS history. I’ve seen that as a trivia question before. RIP Ace.
