Brief but dynamite set from The Budos Band. And now, back to the #XPNCountdown.

It’s true!

Only 100 songs into the #XPNCountdown, but I think it’s already time to call myself into office hours and declaratively state, “There ain’t no way you’re getting a passing grade with that Top 10 list.”

P.S. Thank you for including Mannequin Pussy in the mix too!

That was such a great on-air moment earlier this house. Really enjoyed her song that you played, too.

Jason Isbell’s “King of Oklahoma” isn’t about Long Covid but is definitely worth a listen: medical debt, opioid addiction, and how those stresses tore one couple apart.

I wonder if Elon would have more time for sleep—and be able to go home and sleep in his own bed—if he didn’t spend so much f*cking time on Twitter.

Isn’t The Halfway Post satirical?

Yes! Love to see it!

Cam Heyward makes another All-Pro 1st Team, and T.J. Watt’s run defense stats, which were already excellent, are the highest of his career. And the Ravens are without their #1 receiver, meaning the Steelers can load up their front 7 with run stoppers.

What makes you think they aren’t? They did it in Game 1 this season and are healthy again on defense after being banged up (2 corners out and another injured mid-game) in Game 2.

Ha! Wish decision, Brenda! Someone took this picture of me presenting at an academic conference in Tübingen, Germany last summer, and I have a WNCW sticker prominently displayed on my laptop. Was that her design too?

(Doing chores around the house & listening to Goin’ Across the Mountain right now.)

Wow! Love it! I’ve worn that t-shirt to many a concert, and I’m a member & loyal weekend listener (Cosmic American Music Show through Country Gold) up here in southeastern PA.

Winning a division should guarantee a playoff spot, to be sure, but season records could determine seeding and home field advantage.

The “Sense of Place” series has been so darn enlightening & entertaining to listen to—looking forward to hearing the great ideas that come out of this retreat over the coming year!

Thanks for the suggestion, @kristenkurtis.bsky.social. Member Services at @wxpnfm.bsky.social has shipped a replacement mug my way!

YES! I live in Philadelphia and listen to WXPN Monday through Friday but stream WNCW every weekend for the bluegrass and classic country. Grassroots Radio!
December 17, 2024 at 12:54 PM
I actually $upport *two* radio stations: WXPN here in Philly and WNCW based out of Spindale, North Carolina, which plays great bluegrass and classic country on the weekends — and provides great member gifts too.
December 17, 2024 at 12:49 PM
I listen to my local station here in Philly @wxpnfm.bsky.social all day, every day, but especially love turning up the volume of my mornings with @kristenkurtis.bsky.social and Bob Bumbera.
