Entirely by chance, I spotted the International Space Station passing overhead this morning on #WachusettMountain365. Binoculars confirmed it had no navigation lights, and it’s the only thing I know of bright enough to show up that late in the morning when other stars are washed out.

Every energy source has externalities. “It’s about choosing which ones we are able to live with” in both senses of that statement. To the privileged that live along the coast, this seems to be an abomination. Honestly, when I’m camping at the shore, I don’t like it. But, something got to give.

Vineyard Wind 1 under construction, 15 miles offshore from horseneck Beach in Southeastern, Massachusetts. The wind farm is already producing power and sending it onto the grid in Cape Cod. The turbines are spaced 1 mile apart from each other.
