Massachusetts follows through with lower rates for customers heating residential heat pumps.

The rate is designed to make air source heat pumps competitive with gas.

Heat pumps lower the overall gas demand for the state by displacing residential use with a more efficient system.

Let’s go!

Entirely by chance, I spotted the International Space Station passing overhead this morning on #WachusettMountain365. Binoculars confirmed it had no navigation lights, and it’s the only thing I know of bright enough to show up that late in the morning when other stars are washed out.

Every energy source has externalities. “It’s about choosing which ones we are able to live with” in both senses of that statement. To the privileged that live along the coast, this seems to be an abomination. Honestly, when I’m camping at the shore, I don’t like it. But, something got to give.

There are enough chargers available in the northeast, that rates like this get a pass.

Vineyard Wind 1 under construction, 15 miles offshore from horseneck Beach in Southeastern, Massachusetts. The wind farm is already producing power and sending it onto the grid in Cape Cod. The turbines are spaced 1 mile apart from each other.

The right wingers in the family embrace bogus wellness solutions and health care conspiracies like it’s their personal brand. I was recently lectured on this. Black comedy indeed.

Republicans claim programs ranging from foreign aid to Medicaid are riddled with waste and fraud. They cut funding, hurting people, but $aving next to nothing.

The only way to save money is to cut a bloated pentagon. The US spends more on its military than the next 9 nations combined.

In case there’s any question.

To be clear: The United States flag is flown with pride at full staff unless a presidential or gubernatorial order lowers it to half staff as a sign of respect, marking a death or event of civic importance. The presidential order expired on September 14 at sunset.

This argument is not new and avoids the fact that AI may very possibly take your job or consolidate your sector of employment. Winning that race is going to lead to social upheaval, not a bright new world.

But yeah, play national power games...

Changing the name doesn’t change the fact that it’s heating up to new records year after year.

Wind shear has been suppressing hurricane development, but all that stored heat creates instability that fuels severe thunderstorms and tornadoes in the US.
