personal take is that the fascist thought and nazism is just the most potent lean-in on the nihilism. often feels like it’s a uniform on top of the nihilism, not the foundation.

a simple (admittedly deranged) example of this in reverse is Kinzinger’s popularity across the bipartisan center in IL, which i bet could net him a good share of votes in the Gov or Sen races here.

I think the moment in Twilight where Newman momentarily discusses the nature of his, erm… injury, is something that almost no other actor could have delivered without bricking the movie. Pure craft.

Was talking about this with a friend, and Jordan Peele is one of the only other proximally aged directors we could think of. (Along with Greta Gerwig, and at a lesser box-office level, Robert Eggers and the Safdies.)
