It's a #MARCHintosh miracle! Picked up a Power Mac 6500/275 for an unbelievably low price this morning.

Working on something a little different for this year's #MARCHintosh / #GlobalTalk calling card 😉
(full disclosure: I really don't know C that well, so this is a mashup of a couple tutorials from old books and it's not _that_ impressive. But it will work all the way back to System 1!)

(🧵 4/6) As for the serial port, we repaired a second broken trace, unfortunately it made no difference. We followed the schematic and confirmed pins 2/3/4/5/6/8/20 all have continuity to the correct pins at U38/U39 (and pin 22 to R502), and that there aren't any shorts, so, not sure what's wrong.

(🧵 2/6) We've finally identified the issue with the keyboard. The fault is in the connector between the PCB and the keyboard membrane. The /Y13, /Y9, and /Y8 signal lines will intermittently stop working, but wiggling the connector and putting pressure on it will make those lines work again.

On one side of the home office - a dual display KVM that switches between a docking station for my work or personal laptions, and my gaming PC.
On the other side is my Tower of Power, with another KVM that switches between my Mac IIfx, Apple IIgs, and a Mac Mini. Also a Mac SE that sits alone.

The hashtags aren't case sensitive, are they? For some reason I see less when looking at this feed than when I just do a search on the yyj hashtag.

Also, no thread composer or automatic thread creation if you go over the Bluesky character limit. Hopefully that comes in a future update.
