Two things kill me here. The bewilderment of the gray haired gentleman, naturally, but also the dude bopping his head behind him makes the whole thing feel like a scene from “The Office”

He grew up 2-3 miles from where I lived. Same high school conference. Met him once, nice dude. Fun fact: he grew up in the same cul-de-sac with Kent Graham, another NFL QB. They both started for what was once a local powerhouse: Wheaton North HS. Graham was my neighbor for a few months in the 90s.

Bobby’s first big league manager (Connie Mack) broke into the Major Leagues in 1886. His LAST big league manager (Gene Mauch) retired from managing in 1987.

Went to my first game in Cleveland back in 2021. I was amazed by his following there, he’s not only a great player, but a HUGE hometown favorite. Pretty awesome to experience it! Can’t believe he’s already second in career HR, a lot of great players have called that place home

I saw the Funnels play a house party in Wicker Park last spring. It was a fucking killer show. Acoustic. This is right before they inked their record deal with Wax Trax. First single (“teleprompter”) was released on vinyl, which is gimmicky- sure- but give em a listen and judge them on the merits.

Visited there a dozen years back, while working on my book. Legit a spooky place.

Among your steady stream of interesting nuggets, I certainly enjoy the daily Statcast leaderboards! Do you have access to the season highs (to date) for each of the four main categories? Keep up the great work!
