I did Thanksgiving lights on the front porch (just need to swap one string out to make it Xmas) but we just got a boulevard tree planted, and I had just mowed the front yard, so yep I ran cord across and put a string of multicolor on it. Cold weather's coming & I only have so many hours to work!
