A pilgrimage I have not made for many years – Hutton’s Unconformity at Lochranza, Arran. The site where Hutton could finally prove the earth was unimaginably ancient. A place of deep history in every way.

The Lost Drawings include 6 illustrations from Glen Tilt, showing the relationships between different generations of granite, and the country rock.

This beautiful lithograph shows the Allars Mill unconformity in Jedburgh.

Similar to Siccar Point, the section shows folded Silurian greywackes overlain by horizontal Devonian sandstone.
