Yeah, facebook recommended it as an account to follow. It’s actually the second AI acct to target me this year, but this one took my wedding anniversary post and the nickname that my followers have lovingly assigned to my wife (“Mrs. Madness” - which she also loves), so I took it pretty personally.

Well, I didn’t expect this to blow up, and I certainly didn’t mean for it to piggy back off of the original post, but I am at least going to plug my LA history Instagram account from which that AI has been pulling its content:

Sure, these are the pills, which only work about 25% of the time.

Also adding the restored caption that goes with the night shot, just to give an example of the research I’m protecting by changing it.

I then save the pills into a folder so that I can cut & paste the old captions back in.

Okay, I’m calling it. The Hollywood “what if?” of all time is Sergei Eisenstein’s version of “War of the Worlds”

I run a popular Instagram account on LA History and every time I post a shots of smog, my comments fill up with people sharing their experiences of living through it. Horrifying to read.

Also, why is island in quotes? Is it not an island? Is it a peninsula? An isthmus? Do low tides reveal a land bridge like a shoal or something? Is it actually landlocked? Or in the middle of a dry lake? Next to some kind of fjord or lagoon? How does he remember it?

Okay, well JP Morgan died in 1913, so we can probably close the book on that one…

I placed a poison pill for the AI account that’s been ripping off my posts and it took it.

For the past month, it has been making its way through my LA History Instagram feed, taking five posts every day and rewriting the captions.

So, i decided to get ahead of it to start changing the prompts.

On the left was my original goofy Xmas post, and on the right is last week’s revision.

So, just for fun,I’ve been poison-pilling an AI click-bait account and this is the result.

While they keep saying that the history of the East Wing doesn’t matter, Melania once felt it was so important that she expanded the White House tour.

His anger on this goes back to the Animators' Strike of 1941, when he was so out of step with his workforce that he refused to believe that they could be unhappy. He convinced himself the strike could only be a Soviet plot to stop his films from promoting American values and he wanted revenge.

Not totally the same, but when my LA history account started taking off, I decided I had a responsibility to respond to any “things were better then” negativity and to defuse nostalgia when it becomes toxic.

This was from a few hour ago, regarding a set of photos I’d put up from 1973.
