as much as anything, Andrew Cuomo's campaign represents the bipartisan consensus at the top that consequences and standards are for other, lesser, working class plebes. destined to suffer what they must for the outcomes others merely would prefer. But No Kings should mean No Nobles either.

Epstein writes like a droid in Star Wars that's been chopped in half by a light saber but still has a few minutes of juice left to talk.

* a holder of employer-funded healthcare

And I didn't "suddenly lose a paycheck," I got recalled to work a short notice overseas trip a week into this, worked a full week and then some overseas without pay, and came back to work 40 hours a week since mid-Oct, without pay and which also means I'm not eligible for unemployment anything

That said I had a Hisp Catholic friend whose uncle got him a CBP job and badge, who bragged about using it to harass border crossers, whose father was closeted queer and used the N word and "wetback" openly, and it's really hard to separate relationships like that from the current state of things.

And a way I choose to do that is the memory of a handful of Catholic educators who taught me the words "social justice" long before that was a culture war subject and who were sincerely bought in with blood and who were very fucking serious on the topic.

It's super weird that these media outlets will let themselves be led around by the nose by the guys saying "family policy" and never put it together that they mean white families.
