The note behind the note is so important! We easily forget that we spend SO much more time looking at and thinking about a script, board, or episode during a day than clients do when reviewing it once… their note is a reaction to something, and I always feel like a detective figuring it out!

I haven’t drawn anything outside of work for years, but I sure do admire the artists who found that balance!

Ah, the eternal struggle! I could never balance doing my own art while working on different series (and that line blurred big-time with KvK). I ended up making the choice to find joy in whatever work was in front of me and stop feeling guilty for the empty sketchbooks I accumulated.
