I actually like the team for many reasons. More game time for newbies. Good rotation etc. Except for the fact that we have three 12s picked in the 23 and i think that’s gonna limit our attack and options alot

I dunno. That first half lacked desire, or maybe urgency, from everyone.
Anyway. The harry byrne show is much more fun to watch.
I am so curious as to where HB is gonna be in the pecking order if he keeps performing every time he plays. So hope he stays injury free

I would argue (with the ‘its only spain’ cabeat) that the ire A lads are showing more desire then some of the ire fringe fellas that got a chance against japan today. I know it’s not the same but also 😜

I actually thought that Big Mc grabbed his chance pretty well. Go again with him against Oz I think.
Really need to see more young centres come thru. This year too soon for Cooney but he is showing some nice form at 13 so far

But in reality, who else is Aki replacing? He’s and out and out 12. So is Stu. Which is why Aki on the bench made little sense to me. Someone like JOB covers more positions and allows others to move around too. But i am still grumpy about the outcome today tbh 😖

It feels ‘off’ though that so many of those players have played less than 80 minutes of rugby this season. Not disagreeing with the selection and have no alternative suggestions but so little rugby has been recorded by almost half that team 🤯

The irony is that the thing other provincial supporters hate us for (providing the bulk of players to ireland) is the thing that is starting to hurt us most.
Will be interesting to see What team is picked for zebre and how they react.

Looking ahead it’s unclear to me how we get stability and cohesion. The team will continue to chop and change and Leo is clearly being ‘requested’ to chop and change for Ireland so i dont know when that consistency comes our way. Even after autumn we have dragons away and then 2 wks in europe. Oooof

In a way it was a back to front match. Leinster with so much scrum dominance. I havent seen the total penalty count but munsters figure must be mid teens at least. And yet, their turnovers were so meaningful and well timed. Munster were in the zone. We were not.

In saying that i think sam is not entirely to blame. The whole team were not hungry or accurate enough. Pair that with an intercept try, Munsters fantastic D in the 2nd half and a questionable pen try and ye get the painful scoreline we got

IMO the debate this year is NOT jack or sam. Its actually harry or sam!! But still early days i guess. I want to see harry against a better team than the sharks

Some players still getting up to match pace IMO. Impressed by cooney today and the back 3 are coming together nicely. 10 and 12 still under performing for me. Pack and bench far better this week

Agreed. 10 and 12 off pace these 2 weeks a little. Cooney impressed today and back 3 were improved today too.
