Scenes were shot for this sequence but the main attack required a set for the airlock and money the film didn't have, so the rest of the scene was scrapped. Lambert's death had to be fit in elsewhere and Ripley's nosebleed was the physical aftermath of her and Parker experiencing decompression.

...And she was originally meant to die during this scene, rather than in the next xeno attack. With the pressure briefly restored, Ripley manages to pull Parker through into the next corridor as Lambert gets her insides pulled out from the back, into space, à la Alien Resurrection's newborn's demise

As Ripley and Lambert arrive to save Parker, the xeno tears itself free and rips its arm off. Its acid blood eats through the airlock door and the decompression causes Ripley and Parker to pass out. Lambert however is sucked into the hole in the door, which briefly restores the pressure...
