She acknowledges that there is very little middle ground, if any, in the NYT headline quote. But in a Republican controlled Senate she needs to convince at least a couple of senators to join the Democrats.

She is acknowledging that there is a very small middle (if any) and immediately goes on to say that we must stand our ground. Read/acknowledge the whole interview. Klobuchar is a fighter.
