Coined a new acronym this week PDHD - completing a PHD with ADHD and the joy of serial side quests and how hard it is to finish the thesis - cause ideas and data 😂

A speeding car takes a hard right off the motorway going under a bridge on which sits an arrow sign - the straight ahead arrow says Thesis Submission and the right hand turn arrow says another paper idea. On the car is PDHD - which arose out of a friend talking about how ADHD folk find it hard to finish things and I was like yeah like my PhD but it came out as PDHD. We may have laughed excessively cause it's true 😂

Things parents should be furious about: ✅ Removal of reo Māori in signage etc and prioritising reo Pākehā ✅ The normalisation of structural violence, particularly intersectional isms - racism, sexism, ablism etc. ✅ Trampling of the mana of Te Tiriti ✅ Attempted removal of Art History as a subject ✅ Attempted re writing of the history of Aotearoa in Social Studies and History curricula ✅ Massive loss of knowledge from Gov. Dep., CRIS and Hirer Education. ✅ Only funding research that will make money for the Gov and not research that will improve their child's health and well-being. ✅ Removing NCEA because of political 'vibes" instead of actual evidence, and ramming it through at a break-neck расе. ✅ Stealing healthy nourishing foods from the mouths of tamariki. ✅ Driving through pay equity, welfare and healthcare changes through that add additional pressures to families on living in areas of moderate to high socioeconomic deprivation. ✅ Paying teachers a pittance, whilst removing supports that help them grow learners and instill a love for life long learning in our tamariki. ✅ The potential destruction and pollution of our environment by the Gov. allowing their mates with deep pockets unrestricted access to our taiao. ✅ Reducing matauranga Māori to "myths" and "nonsense" ✅ The list goes on.....

I'm still excited that I'm going to the Mountain Goats gig in April next year. And that I get to watch the fall of Luxon into the void of political nothingness, where even his rich, shiny, whyte male head won't save him from history's scorn.
