It's not just experts—most American voters agree with the Endangerment finding, and are in overwhelming support of regulating greenhouse gas emissions.
Across both parties, 79% of likely voters agree with the endangerment finding. When broken down by party, 68% of republican voters and 88% of democratic voters are in agreement with the endangerment finding. Across both parties, 86% of likely voters are in support of regulating greenhouse gases. When broken down by party, 79% of republican voters and 93% of democratic voters are in favor of regulating greenhouse gases.

On Monday, the NIH announced it will no longer fund new research proposals that rely solely on animal testing. Researchers must now include AI or computational modeling to predict human health outcomes.

Although 500 new NSF GRFPs were added in June, the total number of fellowships in 2025 remains ~500 fewer than in 2024. Some fields—like CS and Physics—still saw net increases in total awards.

But others, including Life Sciences & Psychology, have taken hits of 50% or more compared to last year.

Fields like Computer Science, Physics/Astronomy, and Chemistry saw the largest increases in NSF GRFP awards in 2025.

Meanwhile, Life Sciences, Social Sciences, Psychology, and Mathematical Sciences experienced the steepest declines—marking a major departure from historical funding patterns.
