It saddens me to see that the Texas Social Work Board is proposing to put an end to the cultural diversity and competency CEU requirement. Apparently the psychology and LMFT board has already done so.

Instructions are given for attending in-person or joining by Zoom. On the agenda is a Proposed Amendment Rule: 781.501. Requirements for Continuing Education. Comment (TSBSWE): The proposed amendments will clarify the nature of professional development a licensee must receive to maintaining competency when providing services to unique populations. 781.501. Requirements for Continuing Education. (a) Minimum Continuing Education Hours Required: (1) A licensee must complete 30 hours of continuing education during each renewal period that they hold a license. The 30 hours of continuing education must include 6 hours in ethics and 3 hours in cultural diversity or competency. “cultural diversity or competency” language is being removed and replaced with “designed to ensure competency when providing services to a distinct population, defined as a group of people who share a common attribute, trait, defining characteristic of the licensee’s choice” (d) Acceptable cultural diversity or competency hours include, but are not limited to continuing education regarding age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, language, national origin, race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, and socio-economic status. “(d)” This entire section is being removed. My top 5 songs from my #SpotifyWrapped. First is from This is Us. My 2nd pick was used for a Doctor Who tribute video. My 3rd is an old fave from 9th grade...Empire Records was an epic film. My 4th is from Nightmare on Elm Street part 4. 5th is from Girls Just Wanna Have Fun...love that film.

#SpotifyWrapped 2024 is finally here. My biggest take away is I am a big fan of listening to instrumental music when I read books. Oh and I love my 80s/90s movie soundtrack songs.

My latest read. I fell in love with this author's writing with her book The Magician's Daughter. I love a good fantasy novel and this one, so far, is a gem.

This movie was the sequel to the cult classic The Gate. This is without a doubt the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. At one point in the movie everything people used evil to wish for turned into literal excrement.
